“Marlene helped us buy our first house after I retired in 2008.  I was desperate at the time. The recession had hit and I was losing quite a lot of my invested retirement money. My husband and I decided to cash in our stock and use the money as a down payment for a home. We had always rented and never thought it would be possible to buy a house but Marlene never gave up on us.  She got us in touch with a great lender who was able to work with us, even though we were retired and on a fixed income. She found us a nice place with a big yard for our dogs and an extra living unit for our Daughter to use while she was in school. Seven years later my parents passed away and I had the opportunity to buy out my siblings and take over the house I grew up in.  My folks had always wanted me to have the family home but my siblings wanted to sell it.  Marlene helped me make a plan to present to them.  She worked out all the steps and the details with my brothers and sister and negotiated with them for me. It wasn’t at all easy. My brothers were skeptical and difficult to deal with and there were a lot of steps in order to making it work. Marlene really took charge, was very diplomatic and patient, and she just made it all happen. She arranged to get our house ready to sell. She helped us pack up and move. She then had people come in to fix the house up so it looked like it was new and was ready to sell. At the same time, she arranged for my parent’s house to be cleaned up and repaired so we could move in. She listed the house on Monday and by the next week had 3 good offers that were double the price I paid and she got us more than anyone else on the block had gotten for their house. Marlene took care of everything and was so sensitive to us.  She is honest, caring and very smart: she cares about her clients’ needs and wants, and is dedicated to doing a great job.
